The municipality bill should translate state willingness into action to provide solutions to citizens’ everyday problems, as the municipality is a constitutional institution enjoying legal personality and representing the basic decentralized state, said Wednesday the members of the People’s National Assembly (lower house of Parliament). In a morning session to debate the municipality bill, the deputies unanimously stressed the importance of the municipality in giving a concrete expression to participatory democracy, involving the various political components of the municipal assembly in the service of citizens and their aspirations for a decent life.
